Moth / Firefly

What was lost in the flame?

Warmth, sense of belonging, light for the future, forward-guiding hands.

Is all of those really there in the first place?
Or just an illusion conjured from a fractured mind?

What is man?
Flesh and blood and bones with the soul as the puppeteer?
Miraculous concoction in the chaos soup?
A creation born of curiosity and idleness?

What separates us from the animals?
What's the difference between us and a featherless chicken?
Prepped to be paraded as preys
Living cooped, trapped in an endless chain of rituals
One after another, we disappear
Fading from the world, our physical and memory form

Some struggle to ensure themselves from disappearing totally
Some do not
What's the difference between them?
Their importance in the world?
Their train of thoughts?
Their self-worth?

What's a child compared to a grown man in the grand scheme of things?
We are just particles travelling the vast black emptiness

Making a mark into the world
Digging up the dead to solidify their links to the living
It's easy to say, 'Live, and live more'
And it's a painful way to live
Looking into tomorrow to bring comfort
Fire raining from the sky in the present

Shall we tell the Great One everything
when we are to see Him in the future
What if it's all part of a plan
          a papyrus covered with inks

Can one life worth more than another?
Is a leader's life worth more than a follower?
Tell me everything
I'll listen from the beginning
   until the end

Warmness of Memory

A fragment of time minuscule, ephemeral itself in the heart contained of happiness in interval Keeping me warm in a pre-winter night cradlin...
